Being a self-starter, when the timing was right in 2011, I launched Club Hatch, A Design Thinking Learning Program bringing makerspace-esque workshops for K12 students. I worked closely and partnered with folks from Harvard Ed School/Project Zero Group (Howard Gardner's Team) and framed a time and space for creativity and innovation to come alive. I've done everything from answering phones to planning the vision and everything in between.

  • I've honed in on my own abilities to creatively problem-solve every day while running this enterprise.

  • Setting vision, strategy and organizational goals and bringing on professional leads to create the facilitator framework is intrinsic to its success

  • I coach/mentor the facilitators in design-thinking as needed based on their backgrounds, and curate unique experiential workshops with them to deliver powerful outcomes for the participants

  • I also lead, manage and administer all collateral, resources, personnel management, legal paperwork and finances

  • The organization is run in a start-up frame with a low-budget and high–impact mentality

  • We engage with like-minded educators, teaching artists, entrepreneurs and innovators in various STEAM disciplines in bringing out-of-the-box and relevant educational environments to K12 students

The program now runs both in the US and India and is now in its 11th year. The learning has been immense, and the fulfillment from seeing what magic participants create is what puts a smile on my face every day. Some glimpses over the years are below. You can also learn more about us at www.clubhatch.com. Do visit our Photo Albums page…pictures do speak way more. It currently runs as a non-profit organization and is akin to an on-going side project. Some people are part of a rock band on the side, I juice up on this. :)

Listed below is a sampling of some of the program components that I have strategized, led, managed, designed and/or enabled:
