Design goal
Design an intelligent 'reporting HUB' ENABLing DECISION MAKERS TO QUICKLY GET ACTIONABLE INFORMATION ON OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY TO DRIVE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE.
PROBLEM TO SOLVE:
AthenaHealth’s current reporting and analytics offering was confusing, cumbersome, contradictory, dated, and decentralized. As a result, clients were frustrated, created extensive outside-of-Athena solutions, and many simply did not trust Athena. Athena needed to avoid the significant internal resources that were going towards high-touch coaching and custom reporting, neither of which were scaleable.
Outcomes
Lead various Workshop sessions between cross-disciplinary teams which helped connect up various parts of the current offering that hadn't been touched holistically in decades.
Successfully harness and tap into the knowledge of SMEs and stakeholders to align on a path forward
A divergent range of low-fi Design Concepts of the centralized and customized Reporting Hub on AthenaNet were presented, as paper prototypes.

THE COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE
Took into account existing B2B and B2C business intelligence (BI) platforms designed to explore and analyze data which are easily consumed with high rates of adoption
Positive design aspects were noted on all of them to help inform the design of the AthenaNet Reporting Hub
Possible partnerships with certain vendors were being considered as well.
EMPATHY MAPPING
AFFINITY MAPPING
HMW STATEMENT
“HOW MIGHT WE enable decision-makers to quickly get to actionable information to help them focus on overall business performance.”
Themes of ideas (and votes)
Through the workshop, we generated ideas that address the HMW statement and meet users' needs
Voting on these themed ideas, brought forth and aligned us on the ones that stood out the strongest - i.e. meeting both user needs and business goals.
SKETCHING
Each member sketched individually, on the ideas that were voted on together as a team.
NEXT STEPS
Synthesize and undertake concept-testing with users. Further validate with Senior Leadership. Build out additional screens and prototype, test and iterate with users.
Role
UX Design Lead and Manager. It was a big push for Athena, and I was leading the charge from a UX standpoint for the Reporting and Analytics future vision.
TIMEFRAME
2 months
